Re: Haney Main No. 3 - Stage 10
_ Westwood Street to Mary Hill Bypass

Further to your letter dated January 29, 1992; and our meeting with your staff on
“March 17, 1992, we write regarding the proposed alignment for Haney Main No. 3 - Stage OI.
The purpose of this letter is to request approval in principle from the City for the proposed |
water: main. alignment as shown ‘on the attached copy of Drawing No. WF- 2287, Sketch 2.

‘This watet main is the third and final stage of Haney Main No. 3 and. will be
constructed to connect to our existing Coquitlam Mains No. 2 and 3 at Westwood Street and —
- Kitchener Avenue at the upstream end, and to Haney Main No. 3 - Stage ae (which iS presently
under construction) at the Mary Hill Bypass and Lougheed Highway. The 54-inch water main
will provide water to the Districts of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge and the Township of |
Langley and at the same time will increase the capacity and reliability of this District's supply
to the City. Actual construction of Haney Main No. 3 - Stage III is scheduled. for the spring: of
1994, however, construction of the Maple Creek and Coquitlam River crossings must be.
_-completed i in the summer of 1993 in order to meet Fisheries requirements. On this basis, we.
. would. like to finalize the alignment for this project as soon as possible. 7

AS portions of Coast Meridian Road and Oxford Street have been recently reconstructed,
we have given consideration to your suggestion to construct the subject main further west
~ along the Lougheed Highway to its intersection with Cambridge Street.
