MEMC TO: Members of Council March 31st, fot FROM: Mayor J.M. Campbell APR - 5 1976 Re: March 31st, 1976 G.V.R.D. Meeting The Hospital Budget was accepted. The mill ratz has risen from .8f to -92. This is because of the debt charges that we are forced to carry and I believe that this is very cheap fer the care we get. . The Regional District's budget was accepted by a vote of 29 to 27. I voted against it but in all fairness must say that 4 members from Vancouver were not there and three of their alternates voted against it. Had they been there I think that the vote would have been greater for acceptance. The new mill rate is approximately 1.029 ~ an increase of .237.or about such .as transit and air pollution. a Our Planning Budget has been cut twice and I believe that it is acceptable. T voted against it because in November I advocated that we set a figure of not higher than 14% and work within it. I hope that next year this will be the the system used. The Budget had to be passed today and therefore is final.
