June 2nd, 1975 In speaking to the report, the City Engineer advised that the total cost for 1975 had inadvertently been set forth therein as $8,592.53, rather than $9,200.00 - a difference of approximately $600.00, and that the cost per ton should read $37.00 rather than $34.37, and it was agreed that these changes be made accordingly. Alderman Traboulay inquired whether it is felt the operation is still a viabie one, and Alderman Ranger stated that in his opinion it was, pointing eut that 250 tons of garbage was collected and disposed of. Acting-Mayor Alderman fraboulay inquired as to the status of the recycling project, and Alderman Ranger advised that the price of paper has not increased sufficiently to make such an operation economically feasible at the present time. From the Planning & Zoning Committee, May 30th, 1975, recommending Plan.& Zon. Comm. re that Application R#25/74 to 1ezone a portion of properties at 777-791 App1n.R#25/74, Prairie Avenue from RS~2 (One-Family Suburban Residential) to RS-1 (One- Fami.y Residential) be approved subject to subdivision approval by the Appreving Officer. It was noted in the report that the application involves 3 parcels of land totalling 3.3 acres, with 3 existing houses situate thereon facing Prairie Avenue, and the request is to first consolidate the 3 parcels into one site and then rezone to RS-1 a portion on which the houses are located for subdivision into 4 RS-1 lots with the remainder as one large RS-2 parcel, which will create only one additional building lot; further, that it has been indicated by the applicant that the existing houses will be extensively upgraded if rezoning is granted.
