Alderman Mabbett then Submitted a brief ‘report on the subject, pointing out that flooding of the Coquitlam River in previous years was caused by not lowering the water level at the dam sufficiently during the rainy seasons of the winter and early spring. Alderman + Fraboulay inquired whether the city Administrator had contacted the byking ¢ iss toner with respect to - Sandbagg- ing the dykes, and the City Aduinistrator replied he had not as he was attend- ‘ing a Convention last week; however, he advised that the dykes along the Pitt River were reported: to be in satisfactory condition, and the City Engineer advised that there is an adequate. supply of Sandbags on hand to look after any local situation; also, a large number is available from the. Department of Highways for all communities in the Fraser Valley.
