Dear Mr. Kirk:

I am writing to you to vent my great anger and frustration at even the thought of
loging Mary Hill Children's Centre!

It seems our government, who is supposed to be "looking out for it's people" is
not doing their job when they are congidering selling 4 necessary facility like
this. Sounds like the almight "buck" has superseded the welfare of our children!
Where will all these children go? How far will they have to travel alone before
they reach their destination? Will they be run over or abducted on their way
because the alternate sitter cannot leave younger children (or just doesn’t care
enough) to retrieve the young achool children? This Centre cares enough to make
gure all heads are counted before herding the kids all together across the buay
atreet to and from school. They have also sent out notices that if any parent is
late picking up their child from school to have the child go to Mary Hill Children’s
Centre where they will be cared for vuatil the parent arrives. 1 cannot tell you |
how many times I personally have waited with frightened children on the deserted
school grounds until a parent arrived.

It .is comforting not only knowing that my child ts safe and well taken care of but
also that my 6 year-old daughter has been attending this facility for two years now
and loves it! They have a well organized routine of education and play, and are
very well staffed. As well, they are governed by the proper authorities who
enforces quality care. |

It is beyond ny comprehension why che government jen't doing something to help this
badly needed day care!li! Also, it makes proper sense to me that any caring govern
ment would not only do more to keep and help facilities like this but to fight to
gat day care facilities right on the property of every elementary school! HELP
PROTECT OUR MOST PRECIOUS COMMODITY. .-. «OUR CHILDREN}
