Vancouver is home to a vibrant and thriving Francophone community, and this annual festival not
only provides an opportunity for your community to come together and celebrate its culture, but
also to share wonderful music with all Vancouverites.

La culture francophone est présente partout au pays. Le Festival d’été francophone de
Vancouver, fondé en 1990, en témoigne. Il est aujourd’hui l'un des plus importants rendez-
vous culturels francophones dans |’ouest du pays. Les francophones et francophiles du Canada
et du monde sont invités a participer a cette célébration ol de grands noms de la chanson
d’expression francaise se produiront dans divers sites de la ville de Vancouver.

A titre de ministre du Patrimoine canadien et de la Condition féminine, je remercie tous ceux et
celles qui assurent le succés du Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver.

Welcome to the 18th Vancouver Festival d’été francophone.

French culture is present throughout the country. The Vancouver Festival d’été francophone
has been an eloquent reminder of this since 1990, and is now one of the most important
Francophone cultural events in Western Canada. Francophones and Francophiles from across
the country and around the world are invited to participate in this celebration, where some of the
best known French singers will appear at different sites throughout the city of Vancouver.

As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, | commend everyone who contributes
to the success of the Vancouver Festival d’été francophone.
