jZoning Amend. B/Law #1512- ‘final con- j sideration SLA INAV Non ethene es oning Amend. /Law #1514- inal passage adoption, QM rho N hee Ot te a A Eo one March lJ0th, 1977 Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That By~law No. 1512 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted. Defeated. Mayor Campbell, Aldermen Laking, Ranger and Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution. Prior to passage of the resolution noted above, Alderman Keryluk again stated that, in his opinion, the action now proposed to be taken by the Council was totally incorrect from a Development and Planning point of view and upon receiving permission from the Chair, with Alderman Mabbett informally dissenting, Alderman Keryluk expanded his remarks to include comments on adjacent property also proposed for rezoning. Alderman Keryluk suggested that rather than rezone the properties in question, the Council should attempt to get together with all property owners and De elopers in the area and attempt to work out a solution to the access problem which he felt was the main reason the Council members were opposed to the properties maintaining their present Commercial zoning. In reply, Alderman Laking advised that the City’s Land Use Committee had attempted to get all Developers together to discuss development of the property, but that the Committee received very little co-operation until the possibility of rezoning was mentioned. Alderman Keryluk then referred to representations made at the Zoning Public Hearing held on March 7th, 1977 by persons resident on Angelo Avenue and stated that these persons had been under a misapprehension in thinking that Angelo Avenue was the only access to Commercial development in the area and he demonstrated from a map of the area, that, in his opinion, other access was feasible. Aldermen Laking and Traboulay, however, disputed Alderman Keryluk's claim and stated that such alternative access was not, in fact, available. The discussion continued and, at its conclusion the question was called on the resolution noted above. Moved by Aiderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That By-law No. 1514 be ceconsidered, finally, passed and adopted. Carried. Alderman Keryluk voted against the resolution. , j ¥ i i i y b i ‘ i i ; i L i i i ft : STi otecem neg mrtg co
