STOP signs the Traffic By-law be amended to authorize the installation of STOP signs at certain locations. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Ranzer: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, March Ist, 1976, the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117" be amended to authorize the installation of STOP signs at the following locations: (a) On Regina Street at the North side of Patricia Avenue; (b) On Toronto Street at the South side of Prairie Avenue; (c) On’Chester Place at the East side of Chester Street. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Keryluk questioned the installation cf a STOP sign at Chester Place as it is a short cul-de-sac in a very small subdivision (11 homes), and Alderman Mabbett explained that Chester Street is becoming a very busy street, and stated his view that any intersecting street thereof should automatically have a STOP sign, Mayor Campbell suggested that "Yield" signs could be used in some instances; however, Alderman Laking pointed out that "Yield" signs on accesses to highways are always where there is a curve - but never where there is a 900 turn at a corner. Alderman Traboulay referred to the construction of Regina Street, and to his inquiry as to whether any sidewalk would be provided from Prairie Road along Regina Street to the subdivision, the City Engineer advised that there would be two sidewalks -one on the East and one on the West side of Regina Street going right up to the Hyde Creek Centre.
