June 9th, 1975 been cleaned out this year, and no parks for their children. Alderman Mabbett stated his understanding that Ryan Street, which has not yet been constructed, would serve as a boundary between the industrial and residential areas in that sector of the City. Mrs. H. Kaschke, 1723 Cameron Avenue, pointed out her home is right in between Ryan and Broadway, and Alderman Ranger commented that if he owned a house right next to the Industrial area, he would sell it and move elsewhere. Mr. Huggins stated he had moved to that area to raise his children, not to make a profit from selling his property, and he requested that the proposed buffer strip be constructed as soon as possible; however, Alderman Ranger pointed out that monies to improve the buffer strip would be partially provided by Industrial development. Mrs. K. Vermette, 1727 Cameron Avenue, stated that her residence was located on the edge of the proposed buffer zone, and inquired how it would be improved. Alderman Ranger advised that it would be landscaped and trees planted to screen the Industrial area from the Residential. Mrs. Viek, 1711 Cameron Avenue, advised that the City's Zoning Board of Variance, although probably aware of the fact that further industrial development would be taking place in that area, permitted the construction of an addition to her house last year and Alderman Laking stated that if the Board of Variance grants an Appeal, the Council cannot stop it. Mrs. Vermette stated her understanding that the area was previously zoned Agricultural; however, Alderman Laking advised that for many years it has been considered future Industrial. Acting-Mayor Alderman Traboulay commented there is obviously a Jack of communication between the City and residents and suggested that it may be a good idea to invite the people to Industrial Committee meetings in order that they could have an opportunity to make their views known. Alderman Laking advised that the proposed industrial /warehouse complex will mainly be used for warehousing and office space, and will be the best industrial building in the City. Alderman Laking further advised that the area has been designated by the Provincial Government for Industrial use, and the City will now have to work out a solution to make the living area for the residents the best possible. The Public Hearing concluded at 7:55 p-m., and the regular Council meeting then commenced. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Minutes-June Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk:
