CONFIDENTIAL POLICING REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER TO THE MAYOR OF COQUITLAM During the early morning of September 23, 198] three juveniles were arrested immediately after they held up the Staff of an A & W Drive~In, in the District of Coquitlam. These juveniles were armed with a cut down .22 cal. rifle and a pellet pistol. The three juveniles have extensive juvenile records and had a stolen vehicle in their possession at the time this offence was committed. It is fortunate that no one was injured during the commission of this crime as the juvenile armed with the .22 cal. weapon attempted to shoot at one of the A & W Drive~Inn staff, however the weapon missfired. i is a charge of attempted murder the charges of armed robbery. robbery was recovered, On September 28, 1981, the Proprietor of Marmont Market was robbed by a lone male, who showed. the butt of a gun Stuffed in the front of his trousers, from the scene by an accomplice, abandoned a short dis On September 28, an 18~year old youth was arrested in the area of Poirier and Colinet as a result of complaints that he was exposing himself. Appropriate charges have been laid. Insp. BELL has Spent considerable time and effort particularly with the Principal of Montgomery Junior Secondary School, relative to extensive vandalism. Additional patrols have been instituted and Suggestions made in an effort to curb this very costly type of offence. The lack of lighting at the rear of the school appears to be a Major contributing factor.
