Computer Requirements.

RECOMMENDATION:

That we proceed with the purchase of a new computer
(hardware) and associated software at an estimated cost of $195,000
to $242,000 with the funds to be found as follows:

(1) From computer reserve $66,000
(2) From prior years surplus balance

Thorne Stevenson and Kellogg have reviewed our volumes
and procedures and are recommending a system be acquired as follows:

requirements, if necessary.
$50,000 to $60,000 for software packages,
$15,000 to $20,000 for customizing programs to our needs,

COMMENTS:

Size » There is quite a variation in

reason being not to be so rest
suppliers,

Cost » A little more than I had expected although possible Savings
could occur by purchasing our software from another Munici-
pality using equipment similar to our final choice.
