Dear Mr. Freeman:

I acknowledge your letter of January 19 with respect to change
in the method of appointing directors to regional districts.

I have had discussions on this subject with officers of the
Ministry, but must advise you that no change is contemplated
in the immediate future.

It would be appreciated if you could inform Council that the
matter will remain under review with the possibility of change
at some time, but certainly not for the 1977 elections.
