Fun And Frolic — En Francais “Eun and Frolic—en Francais” was held on May 23, 1981 in Richmond for 100 children in Early French Immer- sion and Program Cadre. Using many of the talents of their bilingual C.P.F. members, an exciting variety program was conducted entirely in French. The activities of the day were divided into four categories — crafts, music, drama (with make-up) and illustrated stories. The children were grouped according to their grade level and rotated through each of the four ac- tivity centers as the day progressed. The events at each center were also adapted to the age level and French- speaking abilities of the children. The Richmond Parents for French members wish to thank all those people who participated in the program. And a special ‘Merci Beaucoup” to Peg Doi and Jetske Hunter for plan- ning and organizing the entire Day! ‘‘Thanks’”’ To Our Volunteers During April/80 - March/81, CPF asked members working on some of its projects to record their volunteer time and other contributions. Many of our active members did so, and the results are both startling and gratifying: more than 3000 hours were recorded, worth (if these people had been paid) well over $25,000.00. In addition, many members and non- members were not reimbursed for such things as mileage, long- distance calls, photocopying, ac- commodation for speakers, etc. These donations amounted to over $1100.00 worth of materials and ser- vices. By way of comparison, our total provincial budget for the projects in- volved amounted to about $15,000.00. And we know that a great many con- tributions of time and materials were not recorded. On behalf of all members of BCPF and of those parents and children who have been helped, the provincial executive wishes to acknowledge these efforts. A heartfelt MERCI BEAUCOUP! J.
