(FREMP Project No. 9408-107). BACKGROUND: The City has received a referral from the Fraser River Harbour Comaiaaion pertaining to a proposal by the Ministry of Transportation and Highways to place fill and rip-rap at the westerly approach to the Pitt River Bridge. The referral enables the City to comment on whether or not the propogala within FREMP's area of jurisdiction may conflict with the City's exiating or proposed use of lands above the high water Line. DISCUSSION: The proposed works at the western end of the Pitt River Bridge will, accommodate the widening of the Lougheed Highway that is being undertaken by the Miniatry of Transportation and Highways. A portion of the dyke underneath the bridge will be raised and reconstructed. A new path for pedeatrians and. cyclists will be created on the reconstructed dyke as part of these improvementa.
