Background & Comments: The Parks & Recreation department this year has reviewed the various admissions and rentals and have recognized that there are Some deficiencies. The year 1988 will be used to start initiating some shifts in how we address our various admissions and rentals. The following points were outlined to the committee by the Recreation Manager as to the rationale for the various increases, a) Increases are not consistent in all categories. This is due to the fact that adjustments have been made in individual categories to address the discrepancy of fees, and charges beginning to become evident with surrounding communities. In some cases, increases will have to be Phased in over a period of years. Recognition has been given to the service levels available at different facilities (i.e. although our service at Hyde Creek Pool is very good, it is recognized that the Coquitlam indoor pool provides recreational swimmers with more diversity of opportunity. Therefore participants are prepared to pay a little more for the additional opportunities).
