November 4th, 1974 /3. From the Public Works Committee, November ist, 1974, recommending Pub.Wks.Comm re "STOP" that "STOP" signs be placed as follows: signs 1. On Fraser Avenue both East and West of Chester Street; 2. On Grant Avenue on the East side of Chester Street; 3. On Columbia Avenue on the East side of Pitt River Road. Alderman Keryluk, in speaking to the above-stated recommendation, advised that since the report was prepared, an additional "STOP" sign was proposed to be located on Dorset Avenue on the East side of Chester Street, and to his suggestion that this be added to those listed as Item No. 4, the Council generally agreed. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, November ist, 1974, "STOP" signs be placed as follows: On Fraser Avenue both East and West of Chester Street; On Grant Avenue on the East side of Chester Street; On Columbia Avenue on the East side of Pitt River Road; On Dorset Avenue on the East side of Chester Street. Carried. From the Public Works Committee, November ist, 1974, advising that Pub.Wks.Comm. re Davies- the Committee has considered Alderman Mabbett's memorandum of October Hastings area 17th, 1974 concerning the Davies-Hastings area, and recommends as follows: Standard "No Truck Route" signs be placed on Davies and Hastings. A sidewalk will be required on Davies as part of the Huntington Rubber subdivision, should that subdivision proceed. A sidewalk on Hastings from Lougheed to Davies will be placed in the 1975 Provisional Budget for Council consideration. A walkway from the West end of Gordon Avenue through to Fox Street will be incorporated as part of future subdivision as it takes place. In speaking to the above-stated recommendations, Alderman Keryluk advised that one additional item - a crosswalk over the C.P.R. mainline (currently being negotiated) - should be included, and he stated that a report thereon will be forthcoming. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, November lst, 1974, standard "No Truck Route" signs be placed on Davies Avenue and Hastings Street. Carried. Alderman Laking voted against the resolution.
