In 1957 he was appointed Business Agent for Local 1-207, which position he still holds, In 1960 he was also ap- pointed the Local Union Financial Secretary. He was re-elected to this position in each succeeding election un- til 1964 when he changed positions with Arne Christen- sen and was elected Local President. Roy Jamha, President of the Alberta Federation of La- bour, recently stated that Keith is one of the real shining lights in the Alberta labour movement. He stated that Keith’s dedication and ability in fighting to improve working conditions in Alberta had won for him the appoint- ment as the Federation’s Rep- resentative on the Prairie Re- gional Employment Commit- tee of the Department of Manpower. He was also ap- pointed by the Federation to act as its Organizational Com- mittee Chairman. The officers and Executive Board of Regional Council No. 1 earnestly request all members in the Region to support Keith Johnson’s bid for election to the Interna- tional 2nd Vice-President post.
