Public Works Item I Re: City Vehicles - Policy re Taking Home The present Engineering Department policy relating to City Vehicles being taken home allows seven vehicles to be used in this manner. The City Engineer, Works & Utilities Supertintendent, Water Foreman, Sewer Foreman, Public Works Foreman, Trades Foreman and Chargehand looking after Sewage Pumping Stations take vehicles home. The Public Works Committee has reviewed the present policy and can report as follows: 1. The Committee has received no indication of improper use ‘of : City Vehicles. . 2. The present policy is hecessary in order to provide proper 24 hour per day, seven days per week coverage of the City's -. Public Roads, Facilities, and Utilities. . The present policy was endorsed by the Municipal Council on October 18, 1971. On the weekend specifically questioned by Alderman Thompson no deviations from the present policy have been discovered. Spring Cleanup _ The Public Works Committee would like to report to t. Municipal Council the recent Spring Cleanup cost. Labour $1,445.21 City Equipment 17.84 4 Hired Trucks 2,524.25 Terra Nova 115.29 Tons 363.15 $ 4,350.45 The cleanup was once again a successful undertaking which in no small part is due to the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce. The committee recommends that the City send a letter to the Chamber thanking them for their efforts.
