In its third year of operation, a spokesman said they’ve bank- ed more than $5,000 from the first two years which sits in a legacy fund account. The game format is 18 holes of partnered golf with alternate- shot competition. Included are two vehicles up for grabs for holes-in-one on par-three holes. The vehicles come from ‘McEwan GM, one of the co- sponsors, Another co-sponsor is the Northern Motor Inn, which will be supplying dinner for the one- day event. Refreshments are courtesy of Labatts. Each golfer is a prize winner, -plus ‘there’s give-away goodies - on opening morning. The tournament fee is $60 a ‘golfer, and there’s a May 12 deadline for those who played last year. Newcomers can sign up after that date. _ Entry forms are available at the Skeena Broadcasters office on Lazelle Avenue. ‘Alley Cats’ to nats Terrace has a five-pin bowling team heading to Ontario May 18 for national men’s team cham- - pionships. The ‘Alley Cats’ won the B.C. berth at a playoff in Duncan by 17 pins over rumners- up Port Coquitlam and Buarn- ‘aby. The ‘Cats’ will be the first Terrace team to ever compete at nationals. Cup ‘‘best-ever, under-17’” minor hockey all-star tournament. The six-team, round-robin series took place. at. Osoyoos from April 20 to 23. Each district team was-made up of the best 23 players selected from evaluation camps on April 1 weekend. Our area was represented by Jared Ewart and Davey Jones of © Terrace, Eric Bryne of Kitimat, Marty Seymour of Prince Rupert and Tom Mix of Burns Lake. Team North started off with a pair of victories. They opened -on a 4-3 win over Okanagan and followed this up by beating Vancouver Island 5-3. Their next two games were losses — 4-2 to Lower Mainland Gold and 6-3 to Kootenay. In their last game they battled to an 8-6 win over Lower Mainland Red, giving them second overall on the three-and-two record.
