Cyril Shelford, " defeated Skeena. provincial Social Credit candidate, says that several questions are being rained out the May 10 voting proceedure in this riding. Shelford said Sunday he is waiting for the final count to be taken on May 23 before he decides if a recount of the. ballots should be taken. Votes counted on Thursday . fave Frank Howard, the New Democratic Party candidate 7,946 and Shelford 6,965, whichis a difference of 391 votes, Shelford says ihe has learned that the officer in Moricetown signed for the voters there instead of the Individual - voters signing for themselves. Each voter normally signs for himself at the pol ‘and Shelford says that no one else can sign for the voter, Howard received 109 votes and Shelford received 18 votes in Moricetown. Shelford says that neither Howard nor he should get the votes, Some of the other polls are in dispute and Shelford said his campaign committee lawyer will be looking into them. Shelford is presently waiting for the absentee vote count. . Another NDP win is also being questioned. In Atlin, a seat previously held by Sccial Credit candidate Frank Calder, the difference in the vote count is nine ‘votes. Calder lost to Alan Passarell, the NDP can- didate, but Shelford says a recount will have to he made to be sure. Yarbrough sald it was" too good a song to exclude and graciously suggested the audience should buy Rodgers album if they liked it. He did-use a song or two | from the album he just recorded in Denver, though, haping one would make the charts. ‘Along with him on the tour, "Yarbrough brings two female vocalists and a former member of the New Christie Minstrels who fill in for him part way through the show so he can rest his voice, which incidentally is almost a strong as when he was hardly more than a college boy. In a performance that not only charmed the audience, “put also teuched deeper emotions’ ‘rather: than just rocking the inner core of your being with sheer volume, - The song which summed up Yarbrough’s current show is!one in which the singer asks if anyone has any use for an old folksinger, one who didn't play any rock and ~ Toll but could still move an audience with a sad song or have them singing along with a happy one.
