April 21st, 1975 Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, April 8th, 1975, "No Parking" regulations from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. be established on the South side of McLean Avenue. Carried. From the Public Works Committee, April 8th, 1975, referring to a letter dated March 20th, 1975 from the Association of Concerned Citizens requesting that a "dusk to dawn" parking curfew in the areas of Burns Road, Dominion Avenue, and the East end of Prairie Road be imposed, and advising that the estimated cost of implementing this request by means of installing No Parking signs at regular intervals would be approximately $2,000.00; also, aside from this considerable cost, the Committee does not feel that night time parking on Dominion, Burns, and Prairie is a sericus problem and it is therefore not prepared to recommend to Council that the request be granted. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the report of the Public Works Committee, April 8th, 1975, recommending that a request from the Association of Concerned Citizens to impose a "dusk to dawn" parking curfew in the areas of Burns Road, Dominion Avenue, and the East end of Prairie Avenue, not be granted, be received. Carried. From the Leisure Activities Committee, April 18th, 1975, advising that the Committee is in the process of reviewing admission rates for public skating and swimming and in addition, the rental rates for the ArenaG and proposing that a 75% subsidy be aimed for with respect to the outdoor pool operation. The Committee, in its report, advised that the Proposed subsidy would mean the revenue would have to be increased by 50% to $25,500., and on this basis a corresponding increase of 50% would be applied to the admission rates. The City Clerk drew attention to the fact that the word "children" where it appears at the end of the second to the last line on the first page of the report should read "students", and it was agreed the correction be made accordingly.
