Fur- ther offences could mean a waler cut-off, but he says most people have been compliant with the restric- tions. “The public has been "very, very good’ with’ this,” said Trawin. Despite restrictions, the heaviest use of water is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m when people are typically running dishwashers or do- ing other household chores. Marvin Kwiatkowski, director of engineering services for the city, said last winter, during the low- est water demand period of the year, 10 million litres of water were consumed © per day in Terrace. “In the last couple of weeks, we've been using’: -15 to 17 million litres per “day,” he said last week. { “If we didn’t have the restrictions, we'd be over 20 [million litres].” Kwiatkowski said the special restrictions will _ likely be lifted within a few weeks but regular re- strictions will be in place.
