Wednesday, March 23, 1966 © TERRACE “‘Omineca” HERALD, TERRACE, BRITISH COLUMBIA Page Five Editor Terrace “Omineca" Herald This morning on the early news we heard that unidentified flying objects had been reported by a number of responsible people. Now for yearg I have been inter- ested in this matter and am con- vineed that at some time in the dim distant past we have had visitors from outer space. Crude drawings of figures wearing what could: easily be designated as space suits have been discovered on cliffs and caves. These were wearing what appeared to be. hel- mets, objects unknown by the ere- ator of the drawings. What I -was not able to reason out was why they had not return- ed..The action of leading nations within the last few years has given me what I consider .is the clue to atomic warfare. I now believe that they destroyed themselves. - When a leading nation is pre- pared and does destroy thousands of innocent women and children by such diabolic means as an atom- ic bomb one can easily attribute letters to the editor... this to mental retardation. The same can be said of the action of some of our national leaders whose actions lately can be attributed to the same affliction. What worries. me is, will these same people couple us with those who at the present time are en- dangering the peace of the world and obstructing the coming of the kingdom by warlike action? It’s our fault if they do. We must indicate to them that we as Can- adiang will have no truck with SUPERIOR FOR A COMPLETE WINDOWS — FLOORS — WALLS CARPETS AND UPHOLSTERY RESIDENTIAL e 4740 STRAUME AVE, thelr schemes of world war. HALLOCK I missed the first performance of “The Birthday Party” produced & by Terrace Little Theatre and after seeing the play on Friday evening I'm sorry that I did. It's one of the Bfew plays I've seen which could m easily be enjoyed twice. . fhe Terrace Little Theatre mM gtoup will leave tomorrow for m= Vancouver where they will strut wtheir stuff for the Dominion Drama Festival preliminaries. UUn- less the other drama groups have m something really spectacular to of- mfer, Terrace stands a good chant® mof winning a berth in the Domin- ™ ion Drama Festival this year with “Birthday Party," : Friday oight's audience was masparse -but this didn’t faze any mm of the performers. They. all work- med together beautifully and what they created on stage was pure en- m iertainment, m Many people have approached mame during past weeks and asked mwhy I had not written a critical review of the S-act production. meThese people were all of mixed mopinions regarding the play. Many expressed dismay at the “far out” aspect of the production. After seeing the play I must agree that it was “far out” but extremely Meentertaining nevertheless. oo The performers managed to take mehe audience right through the mromplete gamut of emotion rang- me from humor to outright shock. Playwright Harold Pinter came : Bp with a plum and Terrace Little Wheatre ripened it and produced mg tasty delicacy. Congratulations the whole troupe. — It is my hope they will pick off maeome much deserved recognition .. and lots of luck Now don’t get the impression I’ve been bought off or anything that disastrous. Granted, “The Birthday Party” is a weirdo but what Terrace Little Theatre has fione with it is wonderful. . To those of you who missed it — undoubtedly there will be more Little Theatre activities, i Guides, Brownies Rangers Brownles of the lst Skeena pack set out Monday afternoon together with leaders Mrs, ten Wolde, Mrs. Kerman and Mrs. Madsen, for a fun-packed hour-and-a-half long treasure hunt, Starting at Clarence Michiel school the Brownies were given clues and compasses and instruct- ed to try and find the hidden treas- ure as quickly as possible. Upon discovery of the treasure, hot dogs and marshmallows were served and the group started the homeward trek, tired but happy. ree ea: DISNEYLANDS RIVAL Expo’s amusement area, La Ronde, is expected to rival Disney- land or the Tivoli in Copenhagen, while still maintaining a Canadian character. Avoiding the garish midway approach it will have at- tractions for everyone, ranging from thrills, rides, and teen-age dances to first rate nightclubs for the adult after-theatre crowd. Sections will be based on such themes as the Old Harbor, West- Vancouver this weekend. ern Canada and Pioneer Land. | SAVONERS ARE OUR BUSINESS : Greig Ave. SPECIAL BOUQUETS PLANTS — TABLE ARRANGEMENTS FLOWER & GIFT SHOP — CORSAGES WE CAN HELP YOU...
