A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The
City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam
City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday,
September 25, 1989, at 7:30 p.m.

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates,
J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart, and M.R. Wright in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy
Administrator R.A. Freeman, and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown.

That the minutes of the Public Hearing and the Regular Council meeting
held on September 1]th, 1989 be taken as read and adopted.

Carried.

DELEGATION:

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay intreduced Marylin Attwood, Publicist
Assistant, Douglas College who presented Council coples of a special 20th
anniversary publication from Douglas College and encouraged Council to
participate in Douglas College's 20th anniversary celebration.

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Dr. D.M. Arnott of the
Simon Fraser Health Unit who gave a presentation on the effects of
cigarette smoke.

Dr. D.M. Arnott asked Council to consider passing two resolutions § to
help combat cigarette advertising. The Mayor sugcested Dr. Arnott bring in
the resolutions to the Environmental Protection Committee for further
consideration.

That the "Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1987, No. 2240, Amendment Bylaw,
1988, No. 2402", be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted.
