Brown Director of Planning {industrial Development Permits RECOMMENDATION: That the Clerk's Office be directed to draft a bylaw amending the Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2162 Schedule A, Report and Schedule B Map including a development permit system. COMMENTS: The proposed devetopment permit system for the industrial! area, was designed to provide a measure of control for the City over development, while providing additional certainty and speed of approval for developers. In addition to the overall goals noted above, the development permit system also provides some additional design flexability to developers for improving their building proposals while meeting the City's goals. The proposed development permit system has been circulated fo affected property owners for their comment. Comments were received from two property owners. The first comment related to the proposed prohibition of advertising signage along Kingsway. That section has been deleted. The second comment related to the ltength of time required for processing. That question was refered to the Solicitor. His informaiton was that once the Development Permit System is adopted by a bylaw, if will not be necessary to circulate applications, as is required for voluntary development permits. Im conclusion, authorization for the City Clerk fo prepare bylaw implementing the proposed mandatory development perm system for Mary Hill Industrial Estate. Ww.
