February 10th, 1975 NEW BUSINESS: Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay referred to the timing of the traffic light at traffic light-Pitt the Pitt River Road-Shaughnessy Street intersection, and he proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the problem of the timing of the traffic light at the Pitt River Road-Shaughnessy Street intersection be referred to the Public Works Committee for study. Carried. Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay referred to the questionnaire on Recreation that Recreation Survey results was sent to residents of the City last year, and the Recreation Director advised that the results of the survey would be available in approximately two weeks. Ald.Keryluk re Alderman Keryluk referred to the mosquito control program, and mosquito control program advised that this would be undertaken either as a function of the Greater Vancouver Regional District or on an inter-Regional basis. Ald.Laking re Alderman Laking referred. to refuse deposited on Coast Meridian Road garbage pick-up- ยง Woodside by the residents of Woodside Estates, and stated he would like to know Estates what is going to happen to it. Mayor Campbell advised that he did not think the City had the equipment available to collect the garbage, and commented that last week a motion was passed referring the problem of garbage pick-up at Woodside Estates and the City generally to the Public Works Committee for study. The City Engineer advised that late last week he had spoken to a paid representative of the Woodside Estates Council and that at that time he had advised him the garbage would not be picked up if it was put out. Alderman Laking Suggested that the garbage be picked up tomorrow and the residents of Woodside Estates be advised that it would not be picked up in the future; but no definitive action was taken by the Council. Ald.Ranger re Alderman Ranger stated he understood The Honourable J.G. Lorimer, Minister of Municipal Affairs, had summoned the Mayors of Port Coquitlam, the District of Coquitlam, and Port Moody to a meeting tomorrow in Victoria to discuss the proposed amalgamation study, and that he hoped Mayor Campbell would insist that the study be broad enough to cover all aspects such as boundary re-alignment, etc.
