On Tuesday, April 15 the committee met and agreed to mail out letters to businesses and service clubs in Terrace. The committee is call- ing upon local members to support the proposed ‘Clean up Terrace”’’ campaign. As part of the program, the committee is planning to purchase car litter bags to be distributed through the fast food outlets, hire people to pick up litter containers. The committee is working without a budget and therefore the success of the program is going to rely on the generosity of Terrace’s community-minded citi- zens, At this time the municipality has com- mitted $6,600 to the pro- gram to hire workers and purchase some of the lit- ter baskets. The commit- tee is asking service clubs: and members of the city to support the program and assist financially with the purchase of lit- ter baskets. The cost of the basket installed is $200. The slogan for the campaign and the name of the pur- chaser will be put on the basket. A letter promot- ing the concept will be sent out in the next week by the Chamber of Com- merce, For more infor- mation contact Mary Jane Wegner at the Chamber of Commerce: 635-2063. Young stars.
