LS egsem ant RT PAGE B2 ents are working fl, . in Terrace Students are fast filling summer job vacancies in the: Terrace-Kitimat area and all across Canada. The Federal Government Mobility Programme is helping students ta work and travel, seeing parts of ‘our country that they wouldn't normally have the opportunity to. : : The mobility programme is available to any student 18 years or aver. If a: student - agrees to work ata specified job for at: least four weeks, the Canada Manpower Centre in fis-her area will pay all tran- spertation costs to and from the place of employment. Some focal students have been placed jn” jobs' in other parts of Canada. There has also been an amazing response form 1 Nova ScOtia, seeking em- oyment in the Terrace area. These students all have jobs in our area and are enjoying the summer.here immensely, while helping out local employers. They are doing jobs such as clerking, wailressing and lifegaurding. ‘With the co- operation of local employers and persons providing ac- commodation ‘for out-of-Lown students, the mobility programme has been a great success, . Stil the housing situation in our area does defeat ‘students. from finding: em- ployment here. As yet, there is no youth hostel in the Terrace area. But, with the anticipated co-uperation of any Terraceltas interested in the co-ordination af such a programme, perhaps aeah can, stndants 2 a aro cio and something could be done for { ‘ wot . next year. . 4 Prince Rupert Forest District Fire Summary for the Week ending July 19,,1974. aver the Prince Rupert Forest District.
