Secondary Houston team. Prince School travelled to’ Houston ‘to take part in the Zone Track and Field’ Meet Saturday, and came away with quite a few ribbons. The Hazelton team vir- .tually walked away with the top school standings, as they amassed 353 points, The closest team to them came from the Queen. Charlotte Islands, and finished with 180 points. Third was Skeena Jr. Rupert’s Booth Memorial School waa fifth with 141 points, and Smithers finished sixth with 121 points. Seventh was Thornhill Jr. Secondary School with 107 polnts. Skeena Jr. Secondary Schoo] sent Boys and Girls Bantam and Midget teams, with the Boys Bantam team doing particularly well, The team of Brent Rogers, Sean Boyd, Noel Valdez, and Lea MacDonald won the 4x100 metre relay, and the team members did well in- dividually also. Brent Rogers won the 100 metre race, 200 metre race, andthe | javelin throw, while Sean Boyd took first in the 400 and 800 metre races. Noel Valdez finished first in the triple jump, and had second place eal amp eds an long jump, w 3 MacDunald placed third in the 400 and 800 metre races. Skeena’s Midget Boys took the 42400 metre relay, while Gary Moen won the 800 metre race In a zone record: time of two minutes 12 seconds. He also placed second in the 400 metre race. _ Skeena pulled off quite an upset in the 4x00 metre medley relay. Bantams Noel Valdez and Kevin Marshall teamed up with midgets Gary Moen and Colin Parr to beat out a Smithers Juvenile team that had dominated the race up until thia year. His outstanding performance were several on the weekend, but just one Division 1 match, which saw Pizza Hut United defeat the ‘Rotary Wheela 3-1, Two Division 2 games were slated for Saturday, May 19th, but both were postponed. The game bet- ween Alyansh and Manuel's Pumas was postponed because of a tournament in ‘Alyansh, as were all - Aiyansh’s games in the other divisions. - Division 3 actlon saw the Bavarian Inn Oxen squeak by Murford’s Mosquitoes 3-2, while tha Cedarland Giants wiped..out All Seasons Blazers 7-0. The game between Aiyansh and Mr. Mike's Sharks was post- poned because of. the Aiyansh tournament. In Division 4 action, it was Highe’s Surveyors 6, Skeena Foresters 0, West End Eagles 7, Faber’s Bombers 0, and Moose Internationals -7, Co-op Kickers 1. The game betwean Alyansh and Pohle’s Coyotes was post- poned. There were four Division 5 games played Saturday. Totem Ford Mustangs downed McEwens Firebirds #1, Kinamen Jets clobbered Doe's United 11-0, Weteene Whitecaps defeated the Terrace Chrysler Apens 6-2, and the Kenworth Cats and Ken's Photo's Mighty Mites played to a 1-1 tie. Skeena Jr. Secondary School and Thornhill Jr. Secondary School's Strack and field teams are gaing to be quite busy the next few weeks, They're travelling to Kitimat for the Kftimat Invitational Track and Fleld Meet this coming Saturday, and on June 2nd, Skeega Jr. Secondary will be hostifig the Terrace High Schools In- vitiational Track and:Field K.eet, with schools frém all over the area participating in both meets. Two games are slated for the Cassle Hall east flail; at 10:00 a.m, Flnning Slyers go against Highe’s: Sur- veyors, and at 11:15 a.ii., it’s Skeena Foresters v@ the Moose Internationals. At 10:00 a.m., at the Casale Hall West field, it's the Co-op Kickers vs the West: End Eagles, and at 11:13
