(Protective Service Meeting ~ June 24, 1992 and August 19, 1992) RECOMMENDATIGN s That the proposed amendment to the Firearms Prohibition Bylaw #1220 be forwarded to Council. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS : In the past Douglas Island has been under the Greater Vancouver Regional District jurisdiction. The discharge of firearms was permitted subject to all Provincial Firearms and Hunting Regulations. When Douglas Island became part of the City of Port Coquitiam then the City Bylaws extend to the island and now prohibit the discharge of firearms. The Sturgeon Slough Game Club has requested that Council permit their club to continue their activities as they have done in the past. This permission would require that Council amend the Bylaw as indicated .in the attached form. Ali Provincial Firearms and Hunting Regulation would remain in force.
