Moved by Alderman Meyer: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended in a report from the Intermunicipal Environmental Protection Committee, the Councils affirm the priorities for river manage- ment as follows: (a) Flood control should receive first consideration in any management “scheme. The Committee feels that. this is essential due to the present rela- tively high level of urban development in parts of the downstream area. ‘(b) Management of river flows should recognize the position taken by both Councils that future development along the river should be for recreational - purposes. (c) Management of river flows should be such as to maximize the benefit mix to domestic water supply, hydro-electric generation, recreation and the natural flora and fauna of the drainage system, within the bounds of the priorities listed: in (a) and (b) above.
