Carried. From the Recreation Director, November 5th, 1981 regarding Sex Discrimination. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That the City of Port Coquitlam comply in every respect with the Human Rights Code in regard to the use of public facilities and, furthermore, that the Human Kights Branch be informed of this decision. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Traboulay suggested that the motion be deferred until all who so desired have been given.an opportunity to speak. Aldermen Traboulay and Muldoon voted in favour of the resolution. Alderman Gates advised that Mr. and Mrs. Burgess will be meeting with the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association and the Minor Hockey Association to try to resolve this situation. Mayor Laking advised groups or individuals may be placed on the Agenda for Council if they make arrangements before noon on Thursday.
