Seven tubs enter
Lakelse annual
water race

Tubs skippered by
Mark Van Herd and
Mike Kustas shared win-
ning honors as_ each
placed first in two of the
four Riverboat Day
bathtub races at Furlong
Bay Sunday.

Van Herd, in a tub
sponsored by the
Teamsters and Tertace
Equipment, won the
CFTK challenge cup,
and the Terrace ‘Tub
Club’ table race. Kustas
and his tub sponsored by
Ken’s Marine and
Thornhill Pub, crossed
the finish line first in the
Valley Oxygen Unlimited
event, and the Far West

Prince Rupert took third
place in two races, while
fellow Rupertite Lloyd
Etzerza had a second and
a third to top outside en-
tries.

Tom Hallock’ also
took a third-place spot.

Seven tubs entered this
annual event at Lakelse
Lake.

which are primarily in-
terior animals, are infre-
quently found in the.
Northwest.

Fuels, plus Rod and Gun
Club dash.
Kustas was also a run-
nerup to Van Herd in
one of the races while
Van Herd did likewise to

Terrace residents and visitora are Invited to Kitimat for a guided tour of It's aluminum smelter. The tour includes a
screening of thelr award-winning film, “Kitimat: A New Generation” which lasts for approximately one hour and 15
minutes, and a 45 minute guided bus tour of the smelter which shows their raduction, casting and wharf facilities.
Tours are conducted Monday. through Friday at 12:45 and 1:30 p.m. There are no tours on weekends and statutory
holidays, but special tours can be arranged for large groups If at least five days notice is given. While reservations for
the regular tours are not required, they are recommended. If you think Industry Is boring, you might be surprised, as
Kitimat belleves they have the bast show In town. -
