In recognition of International Women's Day, March 8th, our cLC Standing Committee on
Equality of Opportunity and Treatment for Women Workers has recommended that our focus this year
be on child care services,

The issue of adequate, accessible child cara services is a worker's issue. e our
Convention in May 1980 the following Policy was passed;

WHEREAS our children are our greatest asset, deserving safe educational
quality child care, Particularly in today's smaller families; and

WHEREAS the cost of child care that Parents depend upon te provide
guality care Places a heavy economic burden on them; and

THEREPCRE YE IT RESOLVED that the Canadian Labour Congress re-affirm
