Eng., City Engineer Request for Temporary Road Closure - Sek Kae Restaurant (Public Works Cammittee February 9, 1988) Recomnmendation: That the request for temporary road closure in the 2200 block McAllister Avenue on February 21, 1988 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 pem. as requested by the Sek Kee Restaurant be approved. Background and Comments: The attached letter submitted by Mr. Albert Wong, owner of the Sek Kee Restaurant, was considered by the Public Works Committee. During the discussions the Committee was advised of the following: le Since this event will take place on Sunday most of the adjoining businesses will not be affected. The owner has assured us that he has contacted the owners of Those businesses which will be open on that day and has received their consent for the proposed road closure. The R.«C.M.P. Traffic Section has agreed to divert traffic around the temporary road closure on that day provided that Council approval is given. . McAllister will be permitted through the temporary barricades erected at the limits of the road closure. Regular buses travelling on Mary Hill Road east of Council has previously supported tocal celebrations of this nature in residential areas such as neighbourhood parties. In these instances the associated costs for the erection and removal of tne barricades have been charged against maintenance account no. 22366.
