THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor and Council March 28th, 1979 FROM: Public Works Committee Report from the Public Works Committee Meeting held March 27th, 1979. IN ATTENDANCE: Alderman P.F. Ranger F.E. Peters, P. Eng., City Engineer. ITEM TI Re: Request for STOP Sign - Manning and York Manning intersects York Street in a t-intersection which presently does not have a STOP sign. A complaint has been received from the people who live directly across the road from the T-intersection and whose driveway lines up with Manning on the other side of the street. On several occasions cars have crossed York at night and ended up in their private driveway. A STOP sign was requested on Manning in order to give the people the opportunity to see that the street does not continue across the intersection. The Committee recommends that a STOP sign be installed on Manning at York. ITEM II Re: Water Meter for Mr. Hermkens At a previous Council Meeting when Mr. Hermkens appeared as a delegation, he was told that he could bring the matter of his water meter back to Council if he removed all nursery stock from his greenhouse. The Works & Utilities Superintendent has made another inspection of his greenhouse and reports that all nursery stock has been removed. In view of the possibility that Council could decide not to install a meter, we have held off with the installation. As this is a matter of an interpretation of the existing by-law, the Committee has no recommendation. Does Council wish to reconsider this question? [acces
