Driver charged

A MAN was charged after getting into an accident with
two young pedestrians downtown Nov. 19.

Around 2 p.m., a teenage girl and a three- year-old
child were crossing Park Ave. when they were struck
by a truck driving south on Eby St.

An ambulance transported the pedestrians to hos-
pital where they were treated for minor abrasions and
released, said Terrace RCMP Const. Rochelle Paten-
aude. |

The truck driver was charged with failing to yield
to Pedestrians under the Motor Vehicle Act, she added.

Sentenced for assault —

Two ADULTS involved in an assault last year near
Iskut have been sentenced. Tena Marie Louie, 40, and
Justin Craig Dennis, 25, each received a conditional
discharge with six months of probation.

Louie plead not guilty as charged to one count of

- sexual assault but later plead guilty to.a lesser charge
of assault for an incident that occurred Aug..11, 2005
near Iskut: Louie must notify her probation officer of’
any change in name, address or employment and attend,
participate in and complete any counselling as arranged
by her probation officer.
