The average expenditure per person for visitors, spent during the festival and in
Nanaimo, was $68.94. The largest proportion of this amount was spent on food and
beverages ($20.96) followed in second place by transportation ($15.47). These
visitors also declared an additional $11.87 per person of spending outside the

Nanaimo area.

For Nanaimo residents the average spent during of the festival was $21.70 with the
most important expenditures being food and beverages ($9.15) and other expenses
($9.69). These averages include those participants surveyed who declared having
spent no money at all during their visit to the Festival.
