REQUEST POR TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS AT HAZEL TREMBATH
SCHOOL ;

RECOMMENDATION:

Tum down request for four-way stop at Eastem and Western Drives,

Tum down request to install 4 crosswalks on each leg of intersection,

Tum down request for flashing yellow lights adjacent to school zone signs.

Install one “Playground Zone” sign with a 30km/h tab approx. 30m south of Eastern Dr. on
Western Dr. at a cost of $106,

Approve in principle the installation of:

-a"Playground Zone” sign on the east side of Western Dr. ,

-a crosswalk on the south leg of the T-intersection at the school across Westem Dr.
and,

-a stop sign on the northeast corner of the T-intersection at the school

-a gravel or concrete walkway on the west side of Wester Dr. from the existing
gravel pathway to the T-intersection at the school.

Attached is a re t for numerous changes to the area approaching Haze! Trembath School
submitted by the Parents Group for Traffic and Safety of the school.

-intersection of Eastern and Westem is a two-way stop. The stop signs are located
on Western Dr. allowing Eastern Dr. motorists right-of-way movements.

-there is an existing sidewalk on the east side of Western Dr. from Eastern Dr. to
the School,

-a gravel pathway exists running through the Hydro powerline right-of-way that
children from west and south of the school use to access the school,
