Ald. Ranger and ‘City Clerk re re- ‘zoning Appin.R#3/75 | | i t May 31st, 1976 That the Lower Mainland Municipal Association be requested to con- sider, at its June 17th, 1976 meeting, the suggestion that no further residential rezonings be approved in Port Coquitlam and municipalities to the East unt{£: such time as the proposed reconstruction of the Lougheed Highway through Port Coquitlam proceeds. Carried. From the City Clerk, May 20th, 1976, setting forth the various actions - taken by Council to date with respect to Rezoning Application R#3/75, concerning a City block bounded by Langan, Brown, Warwick and Taylor. A memorandum was also submitted by Alderman P.#. Ranger, May 31st, 1976, stating he felt complications arose because the said rezoning application was mixed in with a proposed change in Council policy on lot frontages for the whole City, and that he would like information on: Water supply, its effect on this whole area of the City; Roads, existing and future; Preplanning scheme for the total parcel. Alderman Ranger further stated in his report he was of the opinion this application should be held in abeyance until the changes in the Zoning By-law are in force. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the Planning & Zoning Committee re-submit Rezoning Application R#3/75 in a proper manner and with sufficient information so that an intelligent decision on the rezoning of this land can be made. Defeated. Aldermen Mabbett and Ranger voted in favour of the resolution. Prior to defeat of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay pointed out that when submitted at the May 3rd, 1976 Council meeting, this particular rezoning application did not require any consideration with respect to lot frontages; however, at that time Alderman Ranger had suggested that the subdivision be redesigned to include a mix of smaller lot frontages. Alderman Laking commented that the applicaticn as presented met all the requirements of the By-law; however, Alderman Mabbett stated he felt the block was not being subdivided properly with respect to road opening, depth of lots, etc. In answer to a query from Acting-Mayor Alderman Thompson, the City Clerk advised that defeat of the above-stated motion would allow the application to proceed to a Zoning Public Hearing; however, if Council so desires, the application could first be submitted to a Public Information Meeting. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay:;
