March 21, 1988/677 CORRESPONDENCE: From the Greater Vancouver Regional District, March 8th, i986 regarding “Tourism Vancouver, Moved by Alderman Talbot: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the Agreement with the Greater Vancouver Regional District relating to the provision of services by "Tourism Vancouver" on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto; And That the payment of $2,476.00 to the G.V.R.D. on the 31st day of March, 1988 for such services be authorized accordingly. Carried. Aiderman Laking voted against the resolution. DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT: From the City Clerk, March 18th, 1988 regarding Development Variance Permit No. 10/88 for PoCo Place Mall. Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended by the Director of Community Planning in his memorandum of February 18th, 1988 a Voluntary Development Variance Permit be approved relaxing the requirements of the Sign Bylaw No. 2905 Schedule D to permit additional signage on Lot 196 of D.L. 380, Grp 1, NWLD Plan 58699. Carried. REPORTS: From the City Engineer, March 18th, 1988 regarding Bill C-105 (Railway Safety Act). Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Aiderman Stewart: That the City Clerk be instructed to advise the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport before March 23rd, 1988 of Council's full support for the submission prepared by the City of New Westminster respecting Bill C105 (Railway Safety Act).
