THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM . | J ne, COUNCIL MAR 12 1984 TO: B. Kirk, ; - March 8, 1984 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Flush Coating of Wilson Avenue Shoulders - Works and Services Committee, March 6th, 1984 RECOMMENDATION: That the 1984 Capita! Sudget be adjusted to. include $4,000 for flush coating of the gravel shoulders in front of the Wilson Apartments near Mary Hill Road and The Orchard Apartments near Reeve Street. : BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Complaints have been received regularly from both apartments about the condition of the shoulder In front of | their. apartments. Normally the road would have been completed at the. time of construction of the apartment blocks but circumstances prevented this from happening at the time. The residents now feel they should have the same standard of road as other apartments in the City. Complaints are about puddles, dust, and rough condition of these gravel shoulders. The Committee does not expect any major capital reconstruction of Wilson Avenue until such time.as the new Como Lake. Extension ts constructed. Therefore the Committee feels that a flush coating treatment of these shoulders similar to what was done on Kingsway Avenue last year would benefit the residents. There is no provision currently in the 1984 Budget for. doting this work and therefore the Committee recommends that the Capital Budget be increased. F.E. Peters, P. Enge, Clty Engineer FEP/sgg R27
