Kuppan, 3331 Cornwall Street, in stating her objections, O6 reiterated Mr. Scott's previous concern at Cornwall Street becoming a Main access route, and suggested that, in the interests of safety for the 47 small children in the area, a cul-de-sac be constructed at the end of Cornwall Street. Mr. Terry Robinson, 3316 Cornwall Street, drew attention to the number of large, beautiful trees on the proposed development site, and Stated his concern as to how many would be removed; also, he mentioned PR DPT TER a a tt Wet eee weer ae the low water pressure on Cornwall Street during the summer season, and inquired whether the new watermain to be constructed in the area would we eee ne te eee be installed before or after the development takes place. Mr. Robinson then stated his concern at Cornwall Street becoming the main access to the subdivision, and suggested, as Mr. Scott had done previously, that a third access be constructed off Cedar Drive - with the Developer to under- take improvements to Cedar Drive by road widening and covering in the ditch on the West side. The City Engineer advised that the watermain has been installed from the Greater Vancouver Water District line on the Lougheed Highway up Coast Meridian Road to Prairie Avenue, with funds having been received from the Spani development for the extension of that line along Prairie to Newberry, and that the Nu West project will be approved on the condition that the d-veloper provides funds to the City for a further extension of that line from Newberry to Freemont on Prairie Avenue with the work to take place prior to completion of the development. Mr. A. Schellenberg, who was in attendance on behalf of the Developer, advised Mr. Robinson that only those trees necessary to permit house construction would be removed, and Acting-Mayor Alderman Thompson stated that the Developer would also have to comply with the City's By-law in that regard. The City Engineer then referred to the suggested improvements to Cedar Drive, and pointed out that the cost for enclosing the present ditch would be about $250.00 per lineal foot - also, the ditch is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Department of Environment because there are salmon in it, and it is unlikely permission would be granted to cover the ditch any further than what has been done Co) at the Prairie Avenue crossing. Mra. Vera Harvey, 3540 Devon Road, stated her concern at the adequacy of school accommodation for the children that will be generated from the
