BRITISH COLUMBIA GUILD OF POTTERS 315 W. Cordova Vancouver February 1974 Greetings! Ever thought of reducing in an electric kiln? Ever wondered about opening a pottery school in your basement? Come and hear Gabrielle Alfred, who has done both of these things, among many others. She has no slides, so will bring a few pots in the flesh for us to see. So plan to be at the next Guild meeting, Thursday February 21st, at 8 pem. at the Maritime Museum. Barbara Ceramics '74 cancelled. Why? The executive felt the membership would not want the show 2 years in a Tow. Such an exhibition is very expensive, our budget is very small, also, suitable Galleries seemed to be booked far ahead. Work is being done now to find a place for Ceramics '75. WORKSHOPS: All sorts of interesting programmes and workshops are in the air. Gne that is down on earth right now is: A slide show and lecture by Jack Legatt from Nigeria on Nigerian Pottery at & p.m. on Friday, March the 29th - keep that date ready. Place and fee will be in the next newsletter. The Katherine Dodd workshop on General Workshop Techniques has been postponed to a later date. Look out for it. REMEMBER: Please bring all Library books to the General Meeting ar return to Librarian if you can't make it. Too many books are being kept too long - if this continues we will have to start a policy of putting the names of borrowers in the newsletter as a reminder. DON'T FORGET: send us your ideas and suggestions about the “Western Potter". It's that time again! Soon for a new executive. All nominations (even volunteers) are welcome, the more, the ssoner, the better. Kathleen
