BACKGROUND

SUMMARY REPORT ON CENTRE PROJECTS - June 13, 1983

771 people have participated directly in at least one of the Port
Coquitlam Energy Information/Action Centre services projects since
our Centre opened at the end of November 1982.

Interest has varied with Centre staff being asked many different
quescions concerning residential energy efficiency.

Projects have included speaking engagements, workshops, energy
shows, group tours and individual consultations.

Future projects include:

2 mass mail-out to community groups regarding presentations;

Municipal Building Enérgy Management Workshop;
(June 29)

visits to new construction sites as follow-up to Centre
consultations;
(June/July/August)

series of articles and advertizing of Centre services to
building trades, focussing on energy efficient new
construction methodologies;

(August/September).

retrofit workshop series;
(September 21 - October i2th)

energy management for homeawners workshop series;
(September/October)

advertizing/building supplier cont act for retrofit series
and energy management for homeowner series;
(August)

we are exploring. the possibility of training senior handymen
to weatherize seniors’ homes: in the Port Coquitlam area.
