TS etek enn ete re ta RSL Fee I EE June 7th, 1976 The City Clerk advised that follcwing submission at a Public Hearing held on May 31st, 1976, By-law No. 1446, pronosed to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" is now available for further consideration. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That By-law No. 1446 be read a third time. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger advised that had he not voted in favour of the development initially, he would be voting against it now in keeping with his stated intention to vote against all proposals for residential development North of the Lougheed Highway and East of the Coquitlam River until the proposed reconstruction of the Lougheed Highway by the Provincial Government proceeds. Alderman Mabbett inquired as to work required on Newberry Street, and the City Engineer advised that as part of the development, the ditch will be filled in, the pavement widened, curbing constructed, etc. - in other words, the street will be completely finished. Acting-Mayor Alderman Trabouliay stated that in a discussion with Mr. J.R. Insley, a District of Coquitlam School Board Trustee, he had been advised that the problem of pupil accommodation in School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) is reaching crisis proportions in terms of school construction keeping up with residential development, and Alderman Ranger commented it was too bad that information had not been passed on earlier this evening’ when the proposed cluster-housing project at Oxford and York Streets was under discussion. Alderman Laking introduced a By-law to authorize the construction of a Storm Sewer of a "Local Street" construction standard on an Advanced construction schedule; on Fraser Avenue from the East boundary of Wellington Street to the West boundary of Vincent Street in the City of Port Coquitlam as a local improvement under the provisions of Part XVI of the "Municipal Act", as amended. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That By-law No. 1448 be read a first time. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger stated that he was in favour of a storm sewer being undertaken as a work of local improvement on Fraser Avenue, but not on the Advanced construction schedule.
