Freeman October 21, 1974 Dear Sirs: Re: Highway Use By-law No. 1118 This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of October 8, 1974 posing three problems with regard to the apove mentioned By-law. I wili deal with the three questions posed by your letter: 1. To-prevent damage to street signs, boulevard trees, etc.: : : I agree with you that this is covered by Section 2(10) of By-law No. 1118. I think that this is about as far as Council can go in this regard. 2. To provide a reward for information received with respect to such damage: {L can find no statutory authority for «his proposal which would empower the Council to provide for s:ch'a reward in the By-law. If Council wishes to follow this policy, If would suggest that they vote a sufficient sum of money under Section 293(g) of the Municipal Act and advertise that they will give the rewards for information leading to the successful
