Alderman Traboulay voted in favour of the: resolution. - Prior. to defeat-of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay poin- ted out that the brochure was related to the responsibility involved in the - keeping of pets, and suggested that it could. be mailed out te residents along with the Assessment Notices; however, members of Council generally agreed this would be a very costly undertaking. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Aldexman Laking: That the City's representative to. the S.P.C.A. be requested. to condenses the contents of the brochure prepared by the City of Vancouver on the care of pets in the community, and that this item be included in the next issue of the City's newsletter. Carried. Alderman Traboulay voted against the resolution. Alderman Laking advised he had received several complaints about the unsightly and unsafe condition of the sidewalk in front of the Masonic Hall on Shaughnessy Street caused by droppings from pigeons roosting on the roof and he proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger : That the Vector Control Officer be requestai to check into the problem of pigeons roosting on the roof of the Masonic Hall on Shaughnessy Street.
