Since then, I have arranged with the hosvital Boards secretary, Mr. A. Smith, to send you copies of board minutes. I hone this will clear up the matter of communication with Council by the hospital board. The matter of the enclosed press clipping (Columbian, November 21st) is however also of concern to me and needs clarification by Council. These points need to be considerede The practise I have followed since my spne ointment to the hosgital Board is to communicate with Council by letter when something important needed to be brought to its attention and by telephone with individual Councillors when information was sought. Please refer to my letters and resorts of June 4+, 17, 18 and September 4. This arrangement was agreed to when Jack Campbell was mayor and received the consent of Mayor Scott when he took office. I was informed that my appearance at Council meetings would only be necessary when requested. While the matter of my reports are thera for the record, there has been a problem with one Councillor, Phil Meyer, repweting my conver-= sations with him,to Council, inaccurately. For example, in spite of the fact that only an hour before Coincil's meeting of November l2th, I told Mr. Meyer there was no organized boycott _ by Coquitiam's doctors of the Coquittam hospital, he indicated to Council there was. Further, at no time did I suggest the hospital board was confused about the issue of the hospital. Once again, he indicated i did. The recent statements of this Youncillor that doctors are not involved in the planning of the Coquitlam hospital is simply ludicrous. On the planning committee of
