The Public Works Committee considered a memorandum dated March 2, 1992 from the Project/Traffic Technician regarding a letter from Mr. Bob Galer of Port Coquitlam Building Supplies Ltd. regarding boulevard improvements along the frontage of the Poco Building Supplies property on Mary Hill Road and also regarding barricading City owned property at the southwest comer of Mary Hill Road and Kingsway. In order to prevent traffic from short-cutting through the City owned property at the southwest comer of Mary Hiil Road and Kingsway, the Committee recommends that no-post barricades be placed along Kingsway and along Mary Hill Road bordering this property at an estimated cost of $800. The Committee decided to table the request for removing the boulevard and constructing a sidewalk in front of the Poco Building Supplies on Mary Hill Road until after the courthouse is constructed, The City Engineer gave a verbal report noting that the Engineering Department is working with the District of Coquitlam to review the possibilities of installing a four-way stop at Victoria and Apel. . IYEM. VI. The Public Works Committee considered a memorandum from the Project Technician dated February 21, 1992 regarding a letter dated February 6, 1992 from BC Transit requesting bus stop changes at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre. The Committee was concerned that the proposed bus Stop zone would remove an area used for pickup and drop off in front of the Poco Recreation Centre. The Committee recommended that Ansel Wang, Senior Transportation Engineer, BC Transit, be invited to the next Traffic Committee Meeting to discuss bus stop areas and the possibility of relocating the existing bus stop to other locations in the Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre parking lot. Mr. Wang was invited to bring additional information regarding the nurnber of buses that use this bus stop, the hours of operation, any problems experienced with articulating buses, and alternate locations for bus stops.
